Acne is most common in adolescents but can appear for the first time in the mid twenties or even later. It can be very difficult to treat successfully with topical creams and gels or antibiotics, and can have devastating effects on self-confidence and self-esteem. The Treatment: Here at Visible Changes we aim to treat the root cause of the problem by targeting the bacteria that actually causes the infection. This non-invasive product acne treatment is known as and is suitable for all skin types. It can be used to treat acne on the face, neck, back and chest and has been described as the most significant advancement in the treatment of acne in decades. In clinical trials after 12 weeks 87% of clients noticed huge improvements in the condition of their skin, with some people noticing an improvement after just one session. The Results: The bacteria in the skin is successfully destroyed and the acne is cleared leaving you with smooth, fresh, healthy looking skin. also has a collagen replenishment application which helps reduce the risk of acne scars. The results seen by patients after treatment have been so impressive.

occurs when oil secreting glands in the skin get clogged and become inflamed and infected, this often occurs in adolescence affecting up to 90% of teenagers as hormonal changes associated with puberty affect the constituency of the sebum that these glands produce .This process leads to the classical teenage acne spots with white heads and black heads where the sebum is exposed to air but still stuck in the pore. The most common area’s for outbreaks are the face, shoulder’s, back and chest, These blocked pores become colonised with anaerobic bacteria, this means they thrive only in an oxygen free environment and it is the interaction between the laser light, which is well absorbed by the red spots and the bacteria which destroys this oxygen free environment and therefore kills the bacteria. It also has an effect on the release of histamines which contribute to the intense red inflamed look that the spots of many acne sufferer’s have.

MILLIA are a collection of small white spots commonly known as milk spots. Though common among young babies, they can occur in adults and become permanent. While they aren't a medical risk, many people with MILLIA would prefer to remove them, which is possible with clinic treatment.
Because they are traditionally associated with babies (and usually fade away within a few weeks of birth), MILLIA can cause confusion with adults. They are often mistaken for whiteheads, which can cause ill-advised attempts to scratch or squeeze them.
In fact MILLIA are tiny cysts that are located immediately below the epidermis, the very outer layer of skin, making their distinctive colouring so visible. The white comes from an excess build-up of keratin, which is natural part of the skin, also found in nails and hair.
Doctors don't know why MILLIA come about in adults: unlike some skin conditions they don't seem to be related to diet, lifestyle or health issues.

MILLIA Treatment

There are several forms of MILLIA treatment. At one extreme, hot wet towels or facial scrubs can lessen the appearance, though this is rarely a permanent solution. At the other extreme, doctors can physically remove them with sharp needles, though this isn't suitable for some areas of the skin.

Skin tags are small growths that look similar to warts
Skin tag or wart?
Here's how to tell the difference:

  • Skin tags are smooth and soft, whereas warts tend to be rougher with an irregular surface.
  • Skin tags are knobbly and hang off the skin, whereas warts are usually flat.
  • Skin tags are not contagious, but warts spread very easily.

Skin tags are small flesh-coloured or brown growths that hang off the skin and look a bit like warts. They are very common and harmless.
Skin tags are usually a few millimetres in size, although can be as big as 5cm.
They are usually found on the neck, in the armpits, around the groin, or under the breasts. They can also grow on the eyelids or under the folds of the buttocks.
The medical name for skin tags is acrochordons.

Why skin tags occur?

Anyone can develop skin tags, but they are particularly common in older people. Some people develop them for no apparent reason. It is thought skin tags grow where skin rubs against skin or clothing. This would explain why they tend to affect overweight people who have excess folds of skin and skin chafing.

When skin tags can be a problem

Skin tags are harmless and do not usually cause pain or discomfort. However, you may want to consider getting them removed if they are unsightly and affect your self-esteem, or if they snag on clothing or jewellery and bleed.
Sometimes, skin tags fall off on their own if the tissue has twisted and died from a lack of blood supply how warts are removed

  • tying off the base of the skin tag with dental floss or cotton to cut off its blood supply and make it drop off.
  • cutting it off with fine sterile scissors.

Do not attempt to remove large skin tags yourself because they will bleed heavily.

Mole & Vein Removal

What is a mole?

Moles are blemishes of various sizes and colours that are often commonly seen on the body or face. They can be flat or raised, and can be a variety of shapes. Although most moles are harmless, it is important to ensure a doctor examines any mole that changes shape, colour or starts to irritate.

Moles are very common, with 1 in every 100 babies being born with one, according to the American Academy of Dermatology, but for some people they can have a huge effect on self-confidence, especially if the mole is on the face or other parts of the body where people can see them?

Are moles dangerous?

should always be asked to assess a mole to advise on whether it is an indication of something serious.

How to remove the mole?

This is a technique to remove the mole. This may be because it has shown changes in shape or colour, or is unsightly, painful or restricting your movement. Removing a mole with short wave diathermy machine is usually a quick and straight forward procedure.

The exact technique used for removing the mole depends on factors such as what condition it is, its size and location.

Spider/thread veins are extremely common and can be caused by a number of things such as hereditary, hormones, pregnancy, smoking and exposure of the body to varied temperatures. There are different methods in which veins can be treated, of which Destination Skin offer a wide variety of treatments. One of which will be tailored to your needs following a consultation with an expert practitioner. The methods we use include advanced electrolysis

Seborrhoeic or seborrheic keratoses are very common harmless skin lesions that appear during adult life. Seborrhoeic keratoses may also be called basal cell papillomas, senile warts or brown warts.
Seborrhoeic keratoses are harmless and rarely or never become malignant.
Despite the name, they do not have sebaceous origin.

What do they look like?

They begin as slightly raised, skin coloured or light brown spots. Gradually they thicken and take on a rough, warty surface. They slowly darken and may turn black. These colour changes are harmless but may result in the lesion looking like a melanoma (a type of skin cancer).

They appear to stick on to the skin like barnacles.

seborrhoeic keratoses appear on both covered and uncovered parts of the body. There may be one or many of them.

What causes seborrhoeic keratoses?

The cause of seborrhoeic keratoses is not known. The name is misleading, because they are not limited to a seborrhoeic distribution (scalp, mid-face, chest, upper back) as in seborrhoeic dermatitis, nor are they formed from sebaceous glands as is the case with sebaceous hyperplasia.

Does it hurt to remove a Seborrhoeic Keratosis using Electro Micro Surgery (formerly Advanced Electrolysis)?

Removal of a Seborrhoeic Keratosis using EMS involves shaving it off the skin, using short wave diathermy. This is an electrical technique that is a little uncomfortable, but does not need a local anaesthetic. By using short wave diathermy, any minute blood vessels are immediately coagulated (sealed) meaning there's no bleeding. There may however be a little bit of oozing of clear fluid that will form a scab.

How long does it take to remove a Seborrhoeic Keratosis using electro micro surgery?

The length of time it takes to remove each Seborrhoeic Keratosis depends on its size and how long it has been there. Small ones that have not been there too long may be removed in less than five minutes. Larger and more mature ones can take up to15 minutes.

What happens after you’ve removed the Seborrhoeic Keratosis?

As there is no surgery, the lovely thing with removing a Seborrhoeic Keratosis, or several of them, using electro micro surgery means that there are no scars or stitches to be removed. There is no bleeding just a little bit of oozing of clear fluid. This is actually serum from the blood and, just like a graze on a knee, it will scab and after a few days the scab will come off by itself leaving healthy pink skin underneath.

As with any procedure, the skin will then mature and will start to look just like the surrounding normal skin over several weeks with full healing happening between three and six months

ELECTROLYSIS £15 (15 minutes)

Electrolysis is the practice of electrical epilation to permanently remove human hair. The actual process of removing the hair is referred to as electrolysis.
The practitioner slides a solid hair-thin metal probe into each hair follicle. Proper insertion does not puncture the skin. Electricity is delivered to the follicle through the probe, which causes localized damage to the areas that generate hairs, either through the formation of caustic lye (galvanic method), overheating (thermolysis method), or both (blend method).
Three methods or "modalities" are used in electrology. Galvanic, thermolysis, and blend all have their own merits, and one method is not better than another. The success depends on the skill of the electrologist, the type of hair being removed, the condition of the skin and the pain threshold of the client. All three methods, when properly performed, can be thorough at destroying the hair matrix cells, and leaving follicles incapable of regrowing hair.

Electrolysis is a common method of removing unwanted hair. A small needle or thin metal probe is inserted into the opening of the skin where hair grows (small sacs beneath the skin called hair follicles). Next, a low-level electrical current passes through the needle or probe into your skin and destroys the hair follicle. Hair is unable to grow back in an area where the follicle has been destroyed.
The process of electrolysis can be slow and can require several treatment sessions to destroy the hair follicles. Treatment can be uncomfortable—the feeling is sometimes described as having little rubber bands snapping at your skin. The destruction of each individual hair follicle may take from less than 1 second up to 20 seconds.

Threading is an ancient method of hair removal which originated in India, practiced in the Middle and Far East, and is now gaining popularity in Western countries. It involves a twisted piece of cotton used by the therapist which is looped round his/her fingers to remove the hair. Hairs are trapped within the cotton, whether it is a row of hairs or single, the technique is very precise. It is a quick, pain free treatment and last 2 to 4 weeks. However the re-growth period depends on the individual. Threading involves no products on the skin and creates beautiful arched eyebrows. The technique has been practiced for many centuries and has become a very popular form of hair removal within the beauty industry.

Ear Piercing £14.00

Did you know that people have been getting their ears pierced for thousands of years? What those ancient people probably didn't know is that it's really important to take care of your ears after they're pierced. Pierced ears may look cool, but infected ears do not!
Getting Your Ears Pierced
It's important to get your ears pierced by someone who knows how to do it correctly. You don't want a friend doing the piercing for you. You also should have a parent's permission before you have your ears pierced. Most places won't pierce your ears unless your parent (or guardian) says it's OK.
A good piercing shop will make sure that everything is clean. That means you should see the person wash his or her hands, use hand sanitizer, or wear gloves before he or she starts the process. This person should clean your ears with a special soap that kills bacteria.
You or your parent can ask the people at the piercing shop how they make sure the equipment they use — and the earrings — stay sterile, which means germ free. Another way to find out how they do things is to watch another customer get his or her ears pierced. Without these precautions, you run the risk of getting infected ears.

Swedish Massage / Price £45.00

The skin's natural functions will be stimulated improving the condition of the skin and the warmth created will help relax the body physically and mentally. Body massage originated in Sweden. Swedish body massage is the original massage technique involving a sequence of movements working superficially and deeper into the tissue layers. Movements such as effleurage work over the skin with the palm of the hand producing relaxation, whereas movements like petris sage work deeply.
Petris sage movements such as wringing and kneading will help to relieve tension promoting deep relaxation in the tissues and muscles. As no two people are alike, the body massage sequence will be adapted to the client's needs. Massage may be offered in the salon for one hour or half hour treatments, treatments may also be described as back massage, stress massage, all being adaptations of a Swedish body massage.

Swedish massage is the most common and best-known type of massage in the West. If it's your first time at the spa or you don't get massage very often, Swedish massage is the perfect massage for you.

If you want deeper work and can tolerate more pressure, even momentary discomfort, to get relief from muscle pain, it's better to book a deep tissue massage, which is another form of Swedish massage.

Swedish massage and other types of therapeutic massage are performed by trained, licensed massage therapists. A Swedish massage can be slow and gentle, or vigorous and bracing, depending on the therapist's personal style and what he or she wants to achieve.

Hot Stone Massage / Price £50.00
Time:1 Hour

Imagine the sensation of smooth, hot stones on your skin, either alone or combined with other therapies as a luxurious hot stone massage. Just imagining those hot stones on your body should start your relaxation; the reality of our hot stones therapy is infinitely more enjoyable.
How hot stone massage works
The theory behind hot stone therapy is that heated stones (up to 55°F) can elicit the following benefits:
» Physical Healing
» Mental Calmness
» Spiritual Connection to the Earth’s Energy
» Improved circulation
» Soothing deep tissue therapy
» Used with other massages, the stones deliver a wonderfully restorative experience. Have you experienced hot stones massage yet?

What should I expect from my treatment?

First, your therapist will gently place warmed stones on your body to rebalance your energy and provide physical and mental therapy. The stones can also be used to mark places identified for localised trigger-point treatment. Depending on your chosen therapy, enjoy the following combined hot stones therapy and massage
Back, face and scalp with hot stones. This all-embracing treatment combines a full ESPA facial with acupressure, face and head massage. Your initial, deep-cleansing, back exfoliation leads into the powerful de-stressing benefits of a hot stone aromatic oil massage. It’s a truly amazing experience.
Deep tissue massage. Deep tissue massage, as its name suggests, concentrates on the deeper layers of muscle tissue to complement other types of massage that you can enjoy at Visible Changes.
What does deep tissue massage involve?
Did you ever experience that ‘knotted’, ‘wound up’ feeling in your muscles? When your body says you’ve ‘overdone it’. Deep tissue massage (DTM) can help release chronic muscle tension. This is achieved through focused therapy and ‘normalisation’ of muscles, tendons and the fascia (the fibrous connective tissue that supports and protects your muscles).
During treatment, you’ll experience greater intensity than with some of the more ‘relaxing’ therapies. This is because deep tissue massage therapy reaches beyond the upper level of superficial fascia to benefit the deep facia and the very deep sub serous fascia. As well as using their hands and lower arms, your therapist may also use their fingers and elbows to achieve this deeper relief. As you’d expect, your deep tissue massage therapist is specially trained in the techniques required.
How does deep tissue massage work?
Deep tissue massage techniques use slow, intense strokes and deep, firm finger pressure (but not usually oils or lotions) to release chronic tension. Unlike massage that relies on the therapist working with ‘the grain’ of the muscle tissue, deep tissue massage is also applied ‘across the grain’ to normalise tissue and muscles.
Although this therapy should never hurt, some patients experience a slight soreness after their session – it’s quite normal and shows that the therapy is working as intended. Of course, your therapist will always ask you to tell them if the stroke pressure becomes too intense during massage.
Deep tissue massage can be used on its own or with other therapies. You may also want to consider lifestyle changes to reduce the likelihood of developing the symptoms that prompted the need for treatment. For a longer-term solution, your therapist can also help you address issues such as posture, how you move, how you relax, and how you deal with stress.
How often should I have deep tissue massages?
This will depend on your symptoms and how your body responds to treatment. The frequency could vary from a weekly session in severe cases, to occasional therapy. As well as general treatment, you may also wish to consider specialised therapy such as a focused deep tissue back massage.
Do you think you would benefit from this proven treatment?
Whether you benefit from your therapy on its own or with another treatment, we’ve got friendly deep tissue massage therapists with the specialist skills and experience to help you feel better.

What is Reflexology?
Foot reflexology is an established alternative healing technique that’s been practised for centuries in Asia, Europe, Africa and North America. One popular theory is that reflexology originated in China up to 5000 years ago. As to the way it works, theories range from the stimulation of nerve endings at the body’s extremities to a more mystical belief that reflexology corrects imbalances in ‘life energy’.
According to some sources, the therapy was introduced to Western society in the early twentieth-century by a Dr William Fitzgerald who worked in ear, nose and throat medicine. Based on his observations that pressure applied to patients’ feet caused beneficial responses elsewhere in their bodies, he divided the body into ten zones and created the first reflexology chart. Reflexology and foot massage is now a recognised part of alternative therapy
How Does Reflexology Work?
Reflexology is based on the idea that reflexes in your feet (and hands too) are related to every body part, organ and gland in your body. At Visible Changes you’ll enjoy attentive pressure point massage for the feet, which detects tiny deposits and imbalances. If you’ve never experienced the bliss of professional foot massage technique, you’re in for a wonderful treat.
By working on these points, our reflexology and foot massage therapists can release blockages and restore your whole body's energy. At the start of your appointment, your therapist will ask you questions to help them understand how you’re feeling. Based on what you tell them, they’ll apply pressure to your hands and feet, guided by their experience, knowledge and the reflexology foot map.
For maximum benefit, a course of reflexology foot massage treatment is recommended (each session lasts 30 minutes). You can focus on reflexology and foot massages alone, or you might like to make your treatment part of a whole therapy package. You could even visit with a group of friends for a comprehensive spa and reflexology massage session.

Nail art is a creative way to decorate nails. It is a type of art which can be done on fingernails and toenails. It became commonly known in beauty salons and it is considered as fashion activity. Throughout time, nail art became a part of fashion and beauty while in history it was a part of aristocracy and determined social status.

The beauty industry is growing and developing year on year, going from strength to strength. Standard treatments evolve as new equipment, products and techniques are introduced. This could not be more true for waxing. As the Standards Setting Body for beauty therapy, Habia has worked with waxing experts to develop specific occupational standards for intimate waxing. This Code of Practice is the next logical step.

It is essential that beauty businesses operate to high standards to maintain client confidence, and protect both the therapist and the client. The Code of Practice will help do this. It has been approved by the Habia Beauty Forum and health and safety advisers, and will be sent to all Local Authorities for their Environmental Health Practitioners. As you will see from the individuals and organisations endorsing this Code of Practice, we have support from all aspects of the UK industry.

So even though it is a voluntary code, all professional beauty therapists should follow it. It will become the minimum level of performance expected in health and safety enforcement

Salon Safety

It is the legal responsibility of each person to protect and promote the health and safety of themselves and other people in the workplace. This is an equal responsibility between the management and the employees. It is the duty of the management to make all employees aware of the health and safety issues and any possible risk to both the general public and any other members of staff.
It is the duty of every employee to ensure that all safety issues are adhered to in order to minimise any possible risk. All salons should display a Health and Safety (H&S) poster and have trained all staff in the health and safety procedures for the business. It is a legal requirement when employing five or more staff to have a written Health and Safety Policy.

Many women with dark complexions wish that their skin had lighter, more even coloring. The reasons behind dark and dull skin can be hereditary, overexposure to the sun, environmental pollution, a medical condition, dry skin, stress, poor lifestyle choices, and prolonged use of chemical-based cosmetic products.
Many people work hard to achieve fair and flawless skin. The market is flooded with skin-lightening creams and lotions. But such products have harmful chemicals that can ultimately damage your skin. Oftentimes the products are expensive, too.
You can save yourself some time and money by using natural remedies that will effectively brighten and lighten yours kin’s complexion.

skin bleaching refer to the practice of using chemical substances in an attempt to lighten skin tone or provide an even skin complexion by lessening the concentration of melanin. Several chemicals have been shown to be effective in skin whitening, while some have proven to be toxic or have questionable safety profiles, adding to the controversy surrounding their use and impacts on certain ethnic groups

Flabelos Lose Weight

Flabelos Lose Weight, often known as slimming, in the context of medicine, health, or physical fitness is a reduction of the total body mass, due to a mean loss of fluid, body fat or adipose tissue and/or lean mass, namely bone mineral deposits, muscle, tendon, and other connective tissue. It can occur unintentionally due to an underlying disease or can arise from a conscious effort to improve an actual or perceived overweight or obese state.

   Flabelos Lose Weight

You’re ready to lose some weight. But you're tired of listening to all that stale, tried-and-true Flabelos Lose Weight advice, like eating more vegetables, limiting portions, and exercising more.
Maybe what you need is a fresh idea or two. So WebMD asked diet experts to come up with some lesser-known diet tips that could make the most jaded dieter drop that cookie and vow, "Oh wow! I'll try that today."
Here are nine diet tips you may not have not heard yet. Some involve different ways to eat, or adding certain foods to your diet. Others involve learning new behaviors or strategies to help you stay on track.
Flabelos Lose Weight Tip No. 1: Variety Is Overrated
Who hasn't heard the advice to "just take a bite of everything" if you're at a buffet?
But as it turns out, variety doesn't deserve its good reputation, says Dawn Jackson Blatner, RD, a Chicago dietitian and author of The Flexitarian Diet.
"We know that variety makes you eat more," she says, citing several published studies and her own experience in counseling Flabelos Lose Weight patients.
For example, researchers in France found that study participants ate more french fries when they were offered catsup and mayonnaise along with them. And when they were given the option of having cream or whipped cream with their brownies, they ate more than when the brownies were offered plain.
Other researchers have found that people who have been able to maintain Flabelos Lose Weight tend to eat diets with limited variety.
Flabelos Lose Weight Tip No. 2: Have Barley for Breakfast
"Barley is the new oatmeal," says Jackson Blatner.
Barley got its hunger-fighting reputation after Swedish researchers found that eating barley or rye kernels for breakfast kept blood sugar on an even keel. That's because the carbs in barley and rye kernels are "low glycemic index," meaning they raise blood sugar more slowly than some other carbohydrate foods. This helps you avoid a spike, and then a drop, in blood sugar, which can leave you feeling famished.
One caveat: "Buy hulled barely, not pearl barley," Jackson Blatner says. The Swedish researchers used minimally processed hull barley, and they can't vouch for the same effects for more processed forms, such as pearl barley.
Flabelos Lose Weight Tip No. 3: Beef Up Your Lunch Salad
One of the most common mistakes dieters make is to eat a vegetable salad with little or no dressing for lunch, says Joan Salge Blake, RD, professor of nutrition at Boston University and a spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association. "Then they are starving by mid-afternoon," she says.
A salad is a great choice, she says, if you add some protein and a little fat to help keep you feeling full longer.
Top your greens with a 3 oz piece of chicken breast, and you've added about 26 grams of protein but just 140 calories. Add about two tablespoons of light salad dressing, and your salad may be filling enough to get you through the 3 p.m. hunger slump without hitting the vending machine.

How does the LF2 & FLABeLOS Vibration Plate work? The LF2 Vibration Plate and the FLABeLOS work on the same principle of whole body vibration (wbv) whereby the plate pivots up and down in a seesaw motion at specifically programmed speeds. As your body tries to naturally stabilise itself, your muscles contract in order to keep you upright. It is this intensity and frequency of movement that causes the muscles to contract rapidly and this in turn tones the body and gives you the inch loss results you want!
The LF2 Vibration Plate and the FLABeLOS are ideal for those whose lifestyle does not allow lengthy workouts.

You can losse a dress size in 3 weeks.

Whole Body Vibration (wbv) is low impact, making it ideal for those people that have problems exercising because of knee, hip and lower back pains. WBV exercise improves muscle endurance.
Should you be in any doubt whatsoever in the use of the Vibro plate for yourself, we recommend you consult with your GP first prior to use.
A 10 minute daily whole body vibration workout gives you the equivalent benefits of 1 hours workout in the Gym.
Vibration plate exercises have been proven to help tone up muscles and help lose those unwanted inches. These are just a few of the many health and fitness benefits.
